Who is responsible
NP Development Consultancy is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at info@northpointuk.co.uk or 01353 881352 about privacy or your information.
Information we collect
When you enquire, we collect your name, email address, property location, selected service and message. During a commission we may also receive contact details, correspondence, drawings and information necessary for the agreed work. Our hosting provider processes technical request information, such as IP address, browser information and access logs, for delivery and security. Please avoid sending identity documents, financial details or other sensitive information through the initial enquiry form.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use enquiry details to respond and take steps at your request before a potential contract, and project information to perform an agreed contract. Our legitimate interests include managing business correspondence, keeping proportionate records, protecting the website and handling complaints; we consider the effect on your rights. We process records required by law under legal-obligation grounds. If we ask for optional consent for a separate purpose, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Reading the policy is not consent to marketing. We do not use enquiry details for unsolicited marketing or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Who receives information
Website hosting and form processing are provided through Netlify. Enquiries are delivered to our business email service. Information may also be handled by secure project-storage providers and professional advisers where needed. Councils, building-control bodies and other project participants receive only the information necessary for the work you authorise or where legally required. We do not sell enquiry information. We agree the scope of submissions and relevant recipients with you during a commission.
International processing
Hosting or other service providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer applies, appropriate safeguards are required, such as an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards with any required UK provisions. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry. Provider information is available in Netlify’s privacy policy.
How long we keep information
We keep information only while needed for the purpose, relevant legal obligations or a justified record of our work. Unconverted enquiries are reviewed within 12 months of the last substantive contact and deleted or anonymised when no longer needed. Commission records may need to be retained longer for the project, professional obligations, complaints or legal claims. Relevant tax and accounting records are normally retained for at least six years where required. A legal hold or ongoing dispute may require longer retention. Ask us about the retention period for a particular record.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions. We normally respond within one month; complex requests may permit a lawful extension and we will explain it. We may need proportionate information to verify identity. Contact our business email first so we can help. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Security and your choices
We use access controls and proportionate technical safeguards. No online transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Providing the marked enquiry fields is necessary for us to respond through the form; you can instead email or call us. We do not request payment or sensitive documents through this public website. See our Cookie Notice for device-storage information.
Policy updates
This policy applies to the public website and its enquiry workflow. If our use of information changes, we will update the policy and provide further notice where required. Last updated: 11 October 2026.
